Reducing Administrative Workload

Conducted a comprehensive workload study using focus groups, data analysis, and time studies to pinpoint the top drivers of administrative workload. Present findings to executive leadership and gained buy-in for improvements. Oversaw the implementation of 47 improvement projects.

 

RESULT: Buy-in and funding for new technology, streamlined processes, and additional personnel, resulting in significant staff-hour savings and increased time spent executing the mission. 

Streamlining Administrative Processes

Led a team of business process re-engineering analysts to streamline multiple administrative processes. Met with process owners and other key stakeholders to map out current and future state processes. Identified policy changes that would need to be made to support the new processes. Translated the results into business requirements for developers to build the ideal processes into more modern software.

RESULT: Streamlined, automated processes that saved hundreds of man-hours and standardized documentation and best practices.

Modernizing Performance Management

Led a cross-disciplinary team to set a new strategic vision for performance management. Designed a modern performance plan, appraisal system, and feedback cycle, supported by an automated process. To ensure adoption, built partnerships within the public and private sector to incorporate best practices, and developed clear recommendations that secured executive buy-in.

 

RESULT: Shorter time spent writing performance evaluations and increased focus on continuous, real-time feedback. 

Prioritizing & Optimizing Resources

Collected and analyzed data to assess current practices and identify gaps in a mission-critical process that was operating with limited resources. Developed actionable recommendations for the Chief Facilities Officer on how to implement a risk-based model that aligned resources with areas of greatest organizational risk while maintaining strong customer service levels.

 

RESULT: A clear path to optimize resource allocation, reduce inefficiencies, and strengthen the effectiveness of this mission-critical operation.​​​​

Strategy Reporting Tool Rollout

Developed a comprehensive change management strategy and training program for a new reporting tool. This included creating communications for a variety of stakeholders and defining training objectives. Created a detailed training script, tested and refined it based on stakeholder feedback, and led nearly a dozen two-hour training sessions. Tailored the sessions to user needs, ensuring both clarity and engagement while building confidence in the new system.

RESULT: Smooth adoption of the new reporting tool and strengthened trust in the Strategy Team’s ability to deliver change effectively.

Enhancing Applicant Screening

Developed a comprehensive strategy and cost estimate for incorporating a new type of screening into the job application process, performing a cost-benefit analysis and benchmarking with similar public institutions and national experts.  Working with internal stakeholders, designed future-state processes and prepared key decision points for leadership consideration.

 

RESULT: A clear, evidence-based path to strengthen applicant screening and support informed executive decision-making.
